Dr. Bodo Mrozek

Bodo Mrozek is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Université du Luxembourg. He studied history in Berlin and Amsterdam and holds a PhD from the Free University Berlin. He was a doctoral fellow of the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development Berlin, the German Historical Institutes in Washington, London, and Paris, and a visiting fellow at Columbia University, the University of London (Queen Mary), and the Université de Versailles. He worked as a researcher for the Center for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF) and as a lecturer of the Humboldt University Berlin where he represented the chair for the History and Theory of Popular Music in 2018.

Bodo Mrozek is the author of the book Jugend – Pop – Kultur. Eine transnationale Geschichte (Suhrkamp 2019) and the co-editor of two volumes on the history of Popular Culture (Popgeschichte, transcript 2014). He worked about the history of youth and reform movements around 1900 and about Jewish history in National Socialism. His main research interests are transnational cultural and contemporary history. At the Berlin Center for Cold War Studies, Bodo Mrozek prepares a research project on the Sensory History of the Cold War.
